Moving and starting over

For ages I have had my work and my blog scattered all over the web and it became increasingly difficult to keep up with it all. I now have one site where my galleries and my blog will be living:

Quick Study #2

This is from my own reference and the theme is “anything to do with water.” This is clouds reflecting in tidal pools and I completed it in 25 minutes. Oil on panel.

Here’s something: quick study, Napa Valley again

This is a quick study where I am supposed to be pushing a red analgous palette. I don’t know that it is entirely successful, but I guess it’s reasonably attractive if you like this sort of thing (which I am not sure I do.) Oil on canvasboard, 14″x11″.

Pescadero Beach

from Academy reference, 18″x14″ oil on canvasboard. A real quickie – I probably spent about three hours on it.

Another Napa landscape

From Academy reference. 24″x18″, oil on cheap, warped canvas. I’ve never been to Napa Valley but I am certainly getting experience with painting it this semester.

Quick paintings

For Landscape and Situation and Environment classes, we’re doing a ton of fast, small paintings from Academy-supplied reference. Most of these haven’t been worth putting up, but here are a couple that I think turned out OK, given the complexity of the reference photos and the time limitations we had to work within. Both are 11″x14″ on canvas – oils, of course.

Napa Valley landscape

This is a quick study of a portion of a Napa Valley landscape, done for Landscape class. 11″x14″ on canvas.
