A couple of drawings

Man oh man, I did not mean to go this long between updates. My school assignments are keeping me very, very busy. I had meant for this blog to help me think and write about my art and others’ art, but I’ve let too many distractions get in the way. Going into the second half of the semester, this will be changing.

Here are a couple more drawings from my chiaroscuro class. The first is a cast drawing that I just completed and turned in last night. Although I see some issues with it, I feel good about it overall, and I can honestly say I have learned a lot in this class so far. I do not think I could have drawn this a year or six months ago. This is vine charcoal and General 4B charcoal pencil on Strathmore paper and it’s a little over 16″x20″.

Next is a drape drawing that was the assignment before the cast shown above. After having done the cast, I feel I could do this drape a lot better. Vine charcoal and General 4B charcoal pencil on Strathmore paper; about 19″x24″.
