Quick paintings

For Landscape and Situation and Environment classes, we’re doing a ton of fast, small paintings from Academy-supplied reference. Most of these haven’t been worth putting up, but here are a couple that I think turned out OK, given the complexity of the reference photos and the time limitations we had to work within. Both are 11″x14″ on canvas – oils, of course.

    Dorothy,

The interior scene is jaw-dropping gorgeous. The left-hand side in particular (as I look at it) with the radiator and mirror is so beautifully painted! Is there another mirror on the right side? I am assuming there is because of the distortions in the door reflection…anyway, congratulations on doing such a great job with a very complex subject!

Both these paintings are fabulous. Both really draw me in. I love both the distorted reflection in the mirror in the interior, and the serenity of the landscape.
