I figure painting I actually like

This is one of the weekly 6-hour paintings we have been doing all semester. I have liked very little of what I have produced, up until the last few weeks when we have been required to place our figure in an environment. Gee, I should have just been doing that all along, because my figures have improved since she started having us do that. This is oil on canvasboard, about 14″ tall.

Thanks, TomatoMan. Looking at it now, I see massive anatomical (musculature) problems. And that is my problem with doing the figure. I have a tough time with paying attention to how the figure really works. It’s the opposite with perspective – I am obsessed with perspective and getting that correct. I guess it’s a good thing I propose to do my thesis on interior/architectural themes.

Keep improving, getting better and better. This is a process. This is already a very nice painting.
